Yardit Legal

Community Guidelines

Plain-English rules for safe, honest, local Yardit activity.

Effective date: June 28, 2026

These guidelines are based on Yardit’s existing report categories, listing rules, location rules, vendor tools, support workflows, and moderation behavior.

Be honest

Listings, events, vendor profiles, check-ins, photos, descriptions, categories, and locations must be accurate. Do not post fake, misleading, duplicate, or deceptive content.

Use accurate locations

Residential listings must use a valid verified residential address. Neighborhood Sales must follow valid event and host location rules. Vendor check-ins must represent real vendor presence.

Do not place pins at fake, unrelated, or unauthorized locations.

Follow the law

Users are responsible for making sure their listings, events, vendor activity, communications, transactions, and conduct comply with all applicable federal, state, and local laws.

Yardit may remove, restrict, hide, review, or escalate content or activity that appears unlawful, fraudulent, unsafe, misleading, or otherwise harmful to users or the community.

No scams or fraud

Do not use Yardit for scams, bait-and-switch behavior, fake listings, misleading pricing, payment abuse, promo abuse, tier circumvention, or identity misrepresentation.

Impersonation and intellectual property

Do not pretend to be another person or business, use another business's identity, branding, or logos without permission, or upload content you do not own or have permission to use.

Keep content appropriate

Do not upload or post explicit/adult content, offensive content, hate content, harassing content, threats, graphic or unsafe imagery, or content you do not have the right to use.

No spam

Do not flood Yardit with repeated posts, duplicate listings, irrelevant promotions, fake vendor activity, or low-quality spam content.

Respect the community

Treat buyers, sellers, neighbors, vendors, organizers, collaborators, and Yardit staff respectfully. Harassment, threats, intimidation, hate, or abusive behavior are not allowed.

Neighborhood Sale conduct

Neighborhood Sale organizers should use accurate event information, use valid host addresses, approve or deny participants responsibly, avoid abusive removals, and keep participants informed where possible.

Participants should submit accurate sale information, respect organizer decisions, follow Yardit rules, and keep their own listing details accurate.

Vendor and event conduct

Vendors and event organizers should use accurate business information, truthful check-in locations, clear event details, clear space or fee details, and accurate instructions and deadlines.

Reporting problems

Users can report listings that appear unsafe, illegal, fake, misleading, offensive, spammy, duplicated, in the wrong location, in the wrong category, abusive, or in violation of Yardit rules.

Reports may include details and photos. Safety-related issues may be prioritized.

Enforcement

Yardit may take actions such as no action, user education, listing adjustment, warning, listing removal, listing suspension, participant removal, account restriction, account suspension, support review, billing review, or case escalation.

Stay safe

Yardit helps users discover local activity, but users are responsible for using good judgment and making their own safety decisions.

When practical, meet in safe public locations, be cautious when visiting unfamiliar locations, and report suspicious activity through Yardit.

Our Goal

Yardit exists to help communities discover local yard sales, neighborhood sales, community events, and local vendors in a safe, honest, respectful environment. These Guidelines help protect users and the communities they are part of.
